I love watching Christmas movies. Most of the older ones are of perfect family gatherings for the holidays. But have you noticed the newer ones? A lot of them are of busy busy people, way too busy for the holidays, way too busy for family, way too busy to stop work and take time to gather together.
Sadly it's kind of like that for real families these days too. It's not just in the movies. Nobody wants to take time out of their busy schedules to gather together. The days pass through the year, the holidays come and go, and everyone says maybe next year. Sadly for some, next year doesn't happen. A family member passes away, a family member moves far away, etc.
So some of us really enjoy those wonderful old Christmas movies. For some of us they symbolize what Thanksgiving and Christmas should still be like. Some of us refuse to change with the times.
