Final Prepping

Final to do lists, final buys, final prepping.  I want to be able to relax when I get home sweet home Monday from grocery shopping since I don't have to work again until after Christmas.

I enjoy sitting down and making out my cards listening to Christmas music.

When I'm home for the day, I love the lights out, Scentsy fragrances filling our little home, and Christmas movies or music.  I can't wait to bake my Red Velvet cake, bake sugar cookies with the Miniature Cowgirl, and sip on hot cocoa.  Well to be honest, probably more coffee sipping than hot cocoa sipping.

I Just Want To Sit and Sip CoFFee

I love to be able to stop, breath, and enjoy.  I just worked six days in a row, I didn't mind it because I knew my employer was short handed and needed me.  And they did appreciate it so much.  But now, the next few days are all mine.  Mine to stop, breath, and enjoy.

I am not even ready for Christmas.  I am way behind schedule and the running around trying to meet a deadline is my least favorite part of this whole beautiful celebration.  I am not a shopper so if I could just sit here at home and sip my hot coffee or cocoa I'd be just fine with whatever sweet sappy Christmas movie was currently on.

Rufus Jack and my sweet Builder Man both really missed me last week when I was working every day.  It's pretty nice to know you're not taken for granted and those that normally depend on you miss you when you're gone.

Are you ready for Christmas yet?  Are you like me, you'd rather be able to just sit and cherish the wonder of this beautiful day we celebrate our Jesus Christ and just relax relax relax?

Special Little Treat

I came home from work with way more energy than usual.  Then after supper, that sweet Builder Man hubby of mine said he'd like some cookies.

That was all I needed for an excuse to jump up and bake a batch of these yummy delights.  A few years ago my recipe for Georgia Tea Cakes (an old family recipe from hubby's family) was published in one of the Gooseberry Patch books.  They are so easy and so delicious.  You don't have to put the decorative sugar on them, but for us it balances out the salt in the self rising flower.  It's just a perfect tasting little treat to have baked up to nibble on.

I hope you'll try them.

Weather Too Warm

After a few cool snaps and even some C*O*L*D mixed in there, it's warm again.  Maybe just maybe it'll get colder.  Christmas is coming fast, a lot faster than I'd like.  Not ready!

Slowly Slowly

Hey everyone.  Thanks for stopping in again.  I'm slowly slowly becoming satisfied with each little area I decorate for Christmas.

How about you, are you getting your home beautifully decorated for Christmas?

Sweet Rufus Poses Again

He's such a good boy.  If I promise to play ball with him he'll do whatever I need him to.  He loves chasing a tennis ball more than anything.

We sure do love this little monster.  He is 2 1/2 years old now and knows he has us wrapped around his precious paws.

ChRisTmaS PiCs

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Delicious food and quality time with family.  Most of all, as always being very thankful to God for everything.

The day before Thanksgiving we had family pictures taken for Christmas.  I hope you enjoy.

Below is Matthew with my parents on Thanksgiving Day.  We decided to walk outside and take a few pics after eating so we would have more room for dessert.

I enjoyed two wonderful church services today.  After the morning service we had our 5th SONday meal.  When we got home I started decorating the kitchen for Christmas.  It's not finished yet, but close.  I did manage to force myself to eat the last piece of pumpkin pie so that's one more dish cleaned out of the fridge.  I mean I really really had to make myself.  It was that good.

We're supposed to have pajama pictures taken around the tree and fireplace in the next week or so.  I'll be sure to share them.

I hope you have a blessed week.  Thanks for dropping by.

Little Gobbler Toddler

GOBBLE GOBBLE GOBBLE.  The miniature cowgirl wore her Thanksgiving outfit (same ole purple sparkly tutu that she loves) to church yesterday morning.  The feather turkey did survive, although there were purple feather pieces all over the pew and floor around my feet, along with sparkles from the tutu.  She behaved beautifully, like a young lady in her dressy clothes.  Then when she had had enough of being a lady, she decided to be a 2 year old and lay out and roll around on the carpeted floor at my feet.  She wasn't disturbing anyone by doing so, so that wasn't a problem.  Of course we left sparkles and feathers for the vacuum cleaner to pick up.

I didn't dress her in it for the evening service, I wanted her to be more comfortable.  But just before time to take the offering down to the alter, she took off her cowgirl boots.  I guess it's ok that she toddled down in front of everyone in two different colors of socks.  When I noticed it, it was too late.  She certainly didn't mind, she was enjoying getting to walk down there with others. And to me, if she's enjoying church why sweat the small stuff.

Sweet Things and Being Good

We sent these sweet little ornaments to our great niece and great nephew in Missouri.  Lily started ballet and tap this year and her younger brother Colliar started a little rodeo thing called mutton busting.  Both of them are doing great and growing up way too fast.  Lily is already 5 years old and Colliar is 3 years old.

And since Rufus Jack has been a very good boy this year, I'm sure (and so is he) that he'll be getting something nice.

C*O*L*D*E*R than usual

We're getting little cold snaps.  We usually do but these little snaps are C*O*L*D.  It's kind of early for our neck of the woods.

Just yesterday I looked out the kitchen window at God's beautiful handy work, this short little season we call autumn/fall.  It doesn't last long enough around here.

This is what I see when I look out my kitchen window and sit on my front porch.

Then after such a beautiful day the temps took a dive.  We knew it was coming so we were prepared with plenty of wood.

I worked sick late last week so I made sure I got everything done in town yesterday so for the next two days I can pile up in front of the fire.

Of course something spoiled, white, and bossy thinks we keep this fire burning just for him.

On days and nights like this, it's a pleasure to just pile up and cuddle with squishy little babes.
