Beautiful Easter - Beautiful Time of Year

It's that beautiful time of year.  Oh how thankful I am for my savior, and not just at this time each year, but everyday.  I hate that we couldn't celebrate this morning in church but my sweet Builder Man is so sick with the creeping crud.  We also had family coming over after church but have canceled because he's contagious.  Nobody else needs to get sick.
I did go ahead with my plans of using PEEPS on a cake, after seeing all the beautiful little creations on Pinterest.  I'm not a PEEP lover but they are cute little creatures and can be easily removed before diggin' in to the delicious coconut cake, made from my mom's recipe.  When she makes this cake, we all really enjoy it.  But can I just say that the edible grass tastes nasty!  Good thing it can be easily removed too.
I doubled my mom's recipe so I was able to make a few cupcakes.  I used my cupcake corer on them and filled them with yummy frosting.  Now to cut it afterwhile and YES, there's plenty of it and I'll have to take a lot of it to family.

Did you make a PEEP cake?

Those 2 Favorites of Mine

Normally it would irritate me for one of my favorite guys to mess with my chalkboard.  They've left little notes and comments before over what I put, so I've had to redo it a lot.

But this little note made me smile.  This little note was squeezed in there just so, and I can't tell which one wrote it.

It warmed my heart.  I didn't even ask which one did it, and I'll just leave it like it is. I choose to think that they both did it, that they both feel that way!  Of course I can almost see them smiling at each other as they were "messing" with my hard work.  Waiting around for me to come in and see it, then them both denying it.  I've caught them rearranging stuff and hiding stuff so many times and it always ends up in laughter.

I'm so blessed and so thankful that our little home is filled with love and laughter.  Most of all, filled with love and obedience for God, and love and respect for each other.

Lost Linens and a Possible Beard

I've spent all morning plundering, emptying out drawers and cabinets.  I'm looking for the beautiful pastel linens I have somewhere for Easter Sunday's table.  Where are they?

On another note, I am getting a little worried.  Seriously people, that sweet handsome Builder Man hubby of mine has stopped shaving.  He watches that duck duck dynasty thing, reality show, whatever that is.  He just laughs when I question his face getting bushier.  Please tell me he wouldn't do that to me.  Please tell me he's just trying to scare me.

We'll see I guess, but he hasn't had a full beard in years.  He's been wearing a mustache and goatee and that's what I'm used to.  I am kind of laughing about it all though.

Another Cookbook

What a beautiful Sunday afternoon here on Lillie Mae Acres.  We enjoyed a wonderful church service this morning, then came home sweet home to be lazy.  It's a little too early for decorating outside and planting because I know we'll have a little more cold weather and winds, but we've been cleaning up and getting the pool ready.  That yucky green/yellow pollen has been so thick this year.  It seems like it never went away after fall and now it's spring.  A lot of people are real sick with their allergies but praise the Lord we haven't been too sick around here.

I received my new Gooseberry Patch cookbook earlier this week.  It's a new one out titled Game Day Fan Fare and I have a recipe in it on page 121.

Check it out and see if your family likes the Prosciutto Burgers.  They are so yummy.  We are almost empty nesters around here so most nights we only need a small supper, usually a meat and one vegetable.  We love leafy greens.  You can easily half this recipe and it's yummy with steamed or sauteed Kale in bacon grease.  I love Kale.
Here's a few pictures of Rufus Jack.  He'll be 10 months on April 4th and he is growing so fast.  This is his first spring and he is enjoying it.
